Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
Our church actively encourages and supports the concept of tithing. A tithe is a tenth portion of household income. Using the example of $100, a tithe of $10 would be given to the church. This is done as an act of love for God's church as well as an act of obedience because scripture calls us to tithe. The tithe is used by the church to cover the cost of ministry and mission efforts in accordance with the church budget which is approved annually. The church is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit entity. Every dollar is used in support of ministry efforts.
In addition to the tithe, our church supports and encourages giving on all levels: time, talent, and treasure. These gifts of the heart are necessary to support the ministry and mission efforts of God's church. We ask one and all to actively pray and consider how they will support the ministry of the church they have been called to.

In-Person Giving
Giving cash or check can be done in person quickly by placing your donation in a giving envelope and putting it in the offering plate before Sunday's worship service or in the dropbox near the church office.
SVBC will direct undesignated funds to the General Fund. The church allocates these funds according to the annual budget. Write the fund name on the envelope to designate your tithe or additional giving to a specific fund. For instance, if you write a check for $25, and want that money used for the Fall Festival, write "Fall Festival" on the giving envelope.
